Duties and Responsibilities

Working with the Grad Ass’t, Pathfinders, and MYMOM Student Directors to support center and program marketing initiatives while collaborating with the Coordinator for Leader Development Experiences.

Assisting with the branding, creating, and distribution of print- and digital-based creative marketing and promotional materials that, as required, make use of JMU Print Services, Student Affairs Communications & Marketing, and outside partners.

Updating information on social media platforms like Instagram, Twitter, etc. the creation and upkeep of a marketing materials and activity archive.

Participating with unique student-focused events and offering the Student Leadership Center promotional chances at events including resource fairs, open houses, and Student Org Night.

Capturing images during Student Leadership activities and utilizing those images for marketing purposes.

Regularly attending SLC staff meetings and actively engaging in and contributing to the proceedings.

Establishing connections with faculty, staff, and students on campus to advance the Student Leadership Center.

Qualifications

MINIMUM Qualifications:

  • Interest in marketing and advertising via social media, websites, and print media.
  • The desire to develop, design, and produce public-facing messaging through graphics, social media posts, and other suitable channels.
  • Having at least basic design and production skills for print and digital marketing and advertising messaging.
  • The capacity to collaborate with others in branding initiatives and develop acceptable imagery and messaging for marketing and advertising campaigns.
  • Willingness to learn new things and improve one’s abilities to utilise software resources and proper business procedures.

PREFERRED Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated competence in carrying out comparable obligations.
  • Advanced skill with design software and other tools necessary for the position.

Conditions of Employment

  • Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 credits for undergraduate students and 5 credits for graduate students) and be degree-seeking.
  • Students must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above.
