APPLY: 2023 African Union (AU) Internship Program for Young Individuals

Young people from the member states of the African Union can now apply for internships there in 2023.
All full-time undergraduate students (in their final year of study), postgraduate students, and recent graduates from accredited universities are encouraged to apply.
The program seeks to develop participants’ personal and professional abilities and expose them to the operations of the AU at an early stage of their professional careers.

Qualified individuals from various academic areas have the chance to get professional exposure within the AU through the full-time internship program.
As a company that values diversity and encourages teamwork, we strongly invite all competent people to apply. Candidates should have a strong interest in the AU’s work as well as the capacity to communicate with people of different cultural origins and religious beliefs.

Internship Requirements:

To be given consideration for the AU Internship, you must:

  • Hold nationality of a member state of the African Union;
  • being an undergraduate or graduate student engaged full-time in one of these programs, or having graduated from an accredited institution of higher learning;
  • English, Arabic, French, Portuguese, or Kishwahili are the official working languages of the AU.
  • be between the ages of 22 and 32 when submitting an application;
  • satisfy the criteria outlined in the terms of reference.

Internship Duration and Reward

  • With the option of an additional three months, interns will be admitted for a minimum of three months.
  • Participants who are adequately knowledgeable and skilled in the subject matter will lend their support to the AU and possibly act as a breeding ground for future African leaders.
  • It gives participants a chance to practice their skills in a variety of relevant professions while learning about other cultures.
  • The program seeks to develop participants’ personal and professional abilities and expose them to the operations of the AU at an early stage of their professional careers.

Candidates must be prepared to submit the following paperwork in order to apply:

  • A request form.
  • A letter of motivation.
  • A replica of a current passport or national identification card.
  • Copy of the pertinent academic credentials, certified.
  • CV currently in effect.
  • Letter of recommendation.
